Several years ago, when we were touring Ireland, I spotted a ruin and thought it would be a good photographic opportunity. From inside, I photographed the remote island off shore. It turns out this is Skellig Michael, and the location where they found Luke Skywalker! My geek runith over!!
You used to be able to climb the steps to the top, but with no railing and their age, you can’ t do that anymore. You can hike about the island and the views are breathtaking in that Irish kind of way. You are not permitted to over-night there for lack of facilities, but definitely worth the time. How incredibly weird that you took this amazing photo! Did you what is was when you took it. I’ll be going back (3rd time) to check out more of these kinds of places. Ireland never seems to run out of them!
