In my childhood, my mother talked about going to Venice. It was the small painting, however, of gondolas and a cluster buildings in the background that I remember most. She passed away and never got there. My recent trip to Italy afforded me the chance to go to Venice and find the location where the artist did the painting. After speaking with locals and gondoliers, I was directed to the location. After an emotional moment, I took the photo. Below is the painting and my image.
