Iceland Glaciers
Iceland is a both a simple and complex place. Of its 330,000 total population, few live outside the Reykjavik area. The island is almost void of trees and signs of past and present volcanism is seen everywhere. The tundra is vast, barren and in the winter has a stark alien beauty. Visiting the glaciers, at first I was in awe of the size and aqua color of the ice. The sadness is realizing they are quickly melting. The lagoons and floating icebergs are remnants of the glaciers that have broken off, melted, and will flow into the North Atlantic. Provincetown
This Labor Day weekend, my wife and I went to Provincetown, Mass. The last time I was here was almost 45 years ago. It was with my two friends, Barry and Larry. We were “hanging around” on Union Street (Jersey City) and concluded Provincetown had to have the best New England clam chowder. So we jumped into the car and drove there, had the best New England clam chowder “in the world!!”, and drove back. It was a great Saturday.
