Please say hello to Lucy. She is our adopted German Shepherd. Our dear friend Bob, her original owner, asked if we would look after her if his cancer got worse. Bob passed but he would be very pleased to know Lucy has a nice home and is loved every day. This image was taken during one of our many walks through the woods, catching her excitedly jumping over a fallen log. … [Read more...]

Nature’s beauty
There are moments when things just happen. One afternoon I was playing with our dog when I glanced towards the flowers on our side yard. A beautiful butterfly was fluttering around and I rushed to get my iPhone to capture this image. … [Read more...]
Venice Painting
In my childhood, my mother talked about going to Venice. It was the small painting, however, of gondolas and a cluster buildings in the background that I remember most. She passed away and never got there. My recent trip to Italy afforded me the chance to go to Venice and find the location where the artist did the painting. After speaking with locals and gondoliers, I was directed to the location. After an emotional moment, I took the photo. Below is the painting and my image. I saw Venice for my mother. … [Read more...]
Venice St. Mark’s Square
Venice is a uniquely beautiful city and I recommend spending several days there and going on various tours to learn and add to your appreciation of its splendor. This image of St. Mark's Square was taken close to mid-night and I chose to desaturate and increase the textures to enhance the extraordinary detail of the structures. There is little light pollution and the stars are an added beauty to this special site. … [Read more...]

Saying goodbye to our gentle giant…
Last night we had to say goodbye to Guinness. It was discovered that he had a tumor in his heart that was bleeding into his lungs. There were no options. We all loved him dearly. Keep him in your thoughts today and remember to us they are a big part of our lives. To them, we are their entire life. Give your pet lots of hugs every day. We lost our loved Golden Retriever, Reilly, at 8 years old with the same condition. Grain-free dry dog food has been linked as a possible cause. More to follow... … [Read more...]
Heaven will always be open
Captured this photo today. An elderly Army veteran was praying on the steps of a closed church due to COVID-19. When we spoke he said, “They can lock the doors to the church, but heaven will always be open”. … [Read more...]
The Emmett Moffett Mill in Lincoln RI – PHOTO OF THE YEAR!
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I ventured out of our home early one morning to safely capture this image in Lincoln RI, as a late April snow dusted this beautiful scene. Converting it to a Black & White image, I submitted it in the Rhode Island Photographic Society photo competition and it won....PHOTO OF THE YEAR! I was both surprised and humbled. Thank you. … [Read more...]
Guinness and Stella
Guinness and Stella are the names of our two dogs. They are Mastadors, which is a mix between a Labrador Retriever and Bullmastiff. We got them from the same litter, and yes, they are large dogs, weighing 120lbs and 140lbs. When we lost our dearest two Golden Retrievers, Dudley and Reilly, my wife and I decided on two dogs of a different breed so not to compare. In 2008, the country was hit with a financial crisis caused by the banks. Many lost their jobs and I had little choice but to go back to New York City to manage a renovation phase of the United Nations. It was during this time we lost our Goldens. Every Wednesday night a colleague and I would go to the Jamison Irish Pub on 2nd Avenue for dinner. It was a routine we followed and the waitress had our drinks on the table waiting. I had a Guinness and he had a Stella. So, yes....they are named after beers and to remember my time away from home. … [Read more...]
Nashville talent
We did a three day family vacation to Nashville and got a brief flavor of the charm of the city and people. Birthplace of country music, we also spent time in various bars (there are ALOT of bars!) listening to great music and enjoying the food. But talent was not limited to bars. Sidewalk musicians can be found everywhere - playing for everyones enjoyment and with the hope of discovery. … [Read more...]
