My name is Glen Viglone. I grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey, and now live in Rhode Island. I am also an active member of the Photographic Society of Rhode Island – https://www.psri.us
My passion for photography began in my teenage years using cameras with 135mm, 126mm and 110mm film, to get both prints and slides – remember ? My first 135mm reflex camera was the Canon G-III QL, which I loved and still have today. It was at this point I began to develop and print B&W film (“rolling my own” cartridges at a cost of 2 cents per shot). I still remember the excitement as my images materialized in the developing trays. When I got married and started a family, my darkroom equipment went into a large box and stored in the basement, where it remained for many years. I kept shooting and bought my first SLR, the Olympus OM2, along with an assortment of Zuiko lenses. I also still have these today, along with a later acquired OM1. I eventually decided to donate all my dark room equipment to a local high school photography club, hoping it would also help spark their excitement! Today, I shoot Nikon. I started with both the D80 and D90 cameras along with several DX lenses. I loved these great cameras. But soon it was time, and I sold everything and moved up to my first full frame DSLR, the Nikon D800. I invested in several great FX zoom and prime lenses. Today I shoot with the Nikon D850 and the mirrorless retro Nikon Zf.
I have asked myself if I have a photographic niche and concluded I do not need one. I just like shooting and capturing quality images, while instinctively knowing the technical end. My wife and I enjoy traveling, which allows me the opportunity of capturing images of places and people. I also shoot weddings, bridal and baby showers, corporate events, architectural projects and family portraitures, which are a lot of fun.
People told me they never saw anything I shot and this is one reason for this website. The other is showcasing images which are special to me.
